Live Systems is the Future of Biological Farming and Food Security, A Scientific and Moral Revolution for a Beautiful Healthy Planet

LSS/LST is the world's leading and only dedicated biological scientific research facility whose patented products supplant the dangerous chemical consortiums. Our highly effective and selective products are the answer. We offer: bioinsecticides, biomiticides, biofungicides, microbial inoculants / biofertilizers and bioematicides.

Mission Statement-Live Systems Solutions Int.

disease and infested corn

Providing food safe from infestations and pathogens is essential.

The world's major problem is food security and the ability to grow and transport crops and safely and fufill the needs of associated food industries. Chemical solutions have caused grievous harm to the environment and those who work in crop growth, care and transport. Live Systems Solutions and Live Systems Technologies goal is to successfully offer organic products that safely solve crop and soil problems more efficiently than dangerous chemicals at a competitive costs. Our solutions work. Even Greenhouses which are controlled environments unfortunately have the same problems of infectious agents.. A perfect environment for crop growth can also be a perfect enclosed world for nematodes fungus and soil pathogens. LSS/LST offer real solutions.

Live Systems Group is years ahead of any company in safe agricultural products because from the beginning our only mission has been safe, organic solutions targeted to the specific needs of our customers. We care about the health of our planet and unlike the large, chemical consortiums we have never depended upon Methyl Bromide which as been replaced Metan Sodium and other equally dangerous chemicals. LSS and LST solve problems safely and our goal is international food security to feed our planet responsibly with better technology and to protect and honor the environment.

Live Systems Solutions / Live Systems Technology Accomplishments

  1. Identify and solve agricultural problems with our patented organic products as enumerated in the following real world accomplishments.
    1. Rice- LSS/LST has developed a bio fertilizer to increase rice production up to 30% using the full dose of chemical fertilizers in addition to a full dose of our bio-fertilizer.
    2. Coffee- LSS/LST has a biological program for the management of coffee cultivation from seedling to harvest. The program has demonstrated production increases above 20% dry grain and decreases damage from CBB (coffee berry borer) to levels below 1% compared to conventional chemical handling.
    3. Flowers- LSS/LST has developed programs of integrated pest and disease management for the production of cut flowers: roses, standard carnations, mini carnations, Chrysanthemums and pompons. Keeping export quality, and the usual productivity per hectare, the largest economic impact achieved with our programs is the reduction between 10% and 18% of post-harvest losses.
    4. Palm- LSS/LST has developed a program to control the PC (bud rot) disease that threatened nearly half a million hectares of oil palm in Colombia and destroyed about 100,000 hectares of the crop in the last 5 years. The LST program manages to stop the progression of the disease and the total recovery of the palms and their productivity.
    5. Plantain and Banana trees: LSS/LST found a biological solution to control the disease Black Sigatoka that affects near 45% of the Plantain and Banana production area in Colombia (393.000 and 485.000 respectively).
    6. Fruits and vegetables: In this sector, the development of integrated technological packages (chemical and biological) for the production and crop protection has been the central focus of LSS/LST. The greatest achievement of our technology packages is to reach the safety of the final products while maintaining the highest levels of productivity and quality. The developments have been directed to the following crops (in parentheses the main phytosanitary problems are mentioned):
      1. Avocado (Phytophthora cinnamomi and Trips),
      2. Papaya (mites and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides))
      3. Pineapple (Phytophthora parasitica)
      4. Mango (Anthracnose, caused by the different species of the genus Colletotrichum)
      5. Citrus (mites and Phytophthora sp)
      6. Passion fruits (mites and Botrytis sp)
      7. Broccoli (Plasmodiophora brassicae and whiteflies)
      8. Chili (Phytophthora capsici and whiteflies)
      9. Strawberries (Botrytis cinerea and mites)
      10. Tomatoes (Phytophthora infestans and whiteflies)
      11. Lettuce (Sclerotinia sp. and Botrytis sp.)

Methyl Bromide

Human Cost of Methyl Bromide Poisoning

Human Cost of Methyl Bromide Family Hospitalized

Live Systems Solutions Int. has developed safe organic methodologies for fresh and dried product which replaces methyl bromide. Methyl bromide is banned under the Montreal Protocol. We have organic effective replacements that are totally safe and superior to phosphine and other dangerous chemical solutions.

The pesticide methyl bromide has been largely phased out of use in the United States, except for critical-use exemptions, because it is known to cause serious and potentially fatal injuries with both acute and chronic exposure.

A story of a poisoning last year reaffirms why. During a visit to the U.S. Virgin Islands a family of four, parents and two teenage sons from Delaware, became critically ill after being exposed to the gas during a fumigation taking place in the room below theirs.  (CNN News Article about Terminix and Methyl Bromide)

Methyl bromide is an odorless and colorless gas at room temperature and it primarily occurs in nature—it is naturally produced by algae or kelp and the ocean serves as both a source and a sink for the molecule. Despite its abundance in nature, the chemical is not harmless, and has been banned for most indoor applications since 1984.

The reason for its toxicity is that it is well-absorbed after being inhaled, and it is then distributed to many organs, including the lungs, kidneys and brain. It can cross the blood-brain barrier and affect the central nervous system. Given the toxicity profile for methyl bromide, it makes one wonder why any company would use it today around humans without careful supervision.

A horrible incident from March reveals just how dangerous the toxic pesticide methyl bromide can be. A Delaware family vacationing in the Virgin Islands was seriously harmed by its use in the condo below them. Their two teenage boys slipped into comas, and remained in critical condition six weeks later.

Though indoor abuse of the pesticide is rare, it reveals just how deadly the poison is, which raises even more concerns about chronic exposure to outdoor use. Those plump, juicy California strawberries come at a price - do we really want our children and others exposed to a chemical so toxic it can lead to Parkinson's disease?

This toxin harms the ozone and causes health problems ranging from birth defects to dizziness and nausea. It was supposed to have been banned by 2005 - but the EPA allowed loopholes that continue the use of this deadly poison.

According to Truthout, California used close to 4 million pounds of the toxin on fruits, especially on the soil used to grow strawberries, in 2012 alone. Even though the pesticide is legally restricted to outdoor use, that doesn't stop it from being abused or from harming workers - or from drifting to school yards and affecting our children.

If Europe can ban this pesticide altogether, there's no excuse for the EPA to prolong its use in the US. Insist the EPA end all exemptions for methyl bromide use - NOW.
